Oyster Burgers

This twist on a typical burger combines simple Air Fried Oysters with an easy homemade slaw and standard burger buns for a fun meal idea that is perfect for even a busy weeknight. The oysters provide a satisfying crunch alongside the soft bun and tangy slaw. Want them as an appetizer? Just use slider buns with 1-2 oysters and a spoonful of slaw for a crowd-pleasing snack. Ingredients

  • 16 air fried oysters
  • 4 whole-wheat hamburger buns
  • 1 cup slaw, divided
    • 1 cup cabbage, shredded
    • 1/2 Tablespoon olive oil mayonnaise
    • 1/2 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon white sugar

Directions

  1. Prepare 16 Air Fried Oysters.
    • Preheat air fryer to 380℉.
    • Add flour, kosher salt, and black pepper to a small bowl. Stir to combine.
    • Add egg to another small bowl.
    • Add panko breadcrumbs to another small bowl.
    • Dredge each oyster on both sides in flour, then egg, and finally panko breadcrumbs. Set aside.
    • Repeat until all oysters are completely coated.
    • Add coated oysters to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook on one side for 3-4 minutes. Flip oysters and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 145℉.
    • Cook in batches until all are done.
  2. Add ¼ cup of prepared slaw onto each burger bun.
  3. Top with 4 air fried oysters and serve.
